Cognitive Architecture.

Embedded within our cloud architecture is the component that confers our product its unique intelligence – the BBX Cognitive Architecture. This component is composed of two main sub-components:

Our proprietary natural language engine 
Understands the intent of what people are asking using natural language and that provides multi-lingual support – over 100 languages can be supported. In addition, the NLU engine supports domain specific multi-slot filling (entity recognition), allowing BBX to understand anything from product names to dates, all the way to school names.

Multi-lingual conversational engine
Enables our product to support multi-turn dialogues with users. This means the product can be tailored to support more complex and natural conversational dialogue, in addition to the traditional question-answer mode. This can be used to collect information from a user or clarify user intent through proactive questions. Finally, this component also allows the system to preserve conversation context and apply knowledge inference, essentially “reading between the lines” when users ask questions.

Semantic knowledge integrator.

The Semantic Knowledge Integrator on the other hand is a higher level component that relies on the Cognitive Architecture to extract the user intent and relevant entities, which is then used to query data sources, both internal and external, to collect the right knowledge which is then integrated in the response.

This allows BBX to generate answers that directly provide an answer to the user’s question. For instance, if a user enquires about the number of students enrolled in a specific school, the system will be able to access an external education data source and provide a direct answer to the user, as opposed to providing a URL to the user for them to find the answer.

Semantic reporting.

From a reporting perspective, the product also offers a real-time dashboard that provides information on the number of interactions per day, per hour, the average comprehension rate, and the top five user intents, allowing businesses to gain insight on what their customers are asking about.

Cross-channel interfaces.
